Hehe, everyone just ignore StoleMyNipples. I skip over his posts. He's got anger issues and thinks he's right about everything. Anyway, moving on. I fear this drop won't go, but that's ok, every company is going to come out with their own version of 3440x1440. It's selling like mad. LG makes the panel, but we'll see if someone puts a chassis around it without issues. Ever since 2560x1080, I've been waiting for a larger 21:9 and here it is. It will be mine :) Just probably not on this drop.
Just like 4:3 was the standard way back with CRT's......then LCD's eventually brought 16:9. TV's and monitors are going 21:9. This is way more than a niche. 120-144hz is actually more niche than 21:9. 120-144hz will be going away with OLED screens, but 21:9 is here to stay. It can be used for productivity AND gaming. 120-144hz is only for gaming and only for shooters. Far less noticable on other type games. Monitor heaven = 3440 x 1440 OLED screen.....no refresh and no backlight.

SupermoistI like how you're indirectly responding to me while pretending you're ignoring what I'm saying. It's cute.
Anyway there have been lots of very intelligent people that attempted to make predictions on the market. Those people are not you, an individual who comes up with "StoleMyNipples" as his most artful way of maligning someone (I think this hurts you more than me so I don't really care). I wouldn't trust an individual that can't understand G-Sync and monitor technology, do basic math in general, ignores facts, never sources any of his claims, etc. (and all of this is fact, one merely has to look back through this thread)... to properly do market predictions.
Also, you realize you can be productive on practically anything right? It's a moot point. At work I program on a crappy TN panel with a crappy TN panel beside it. The max resolution is 1080p. The only ones that truly need color accuracy of IPS are graphic designers, and those graphic designers need either a 10 bit panel (with a special GPU), or an 8 bit panel that is better than the crap inside of this thing... plus they could get two 1440p monitors for the price of this. It's an IPS don't get me wrong, but I don't think the LG panel inside of this is going to get any awards any time soon. And if you're a programmer ideally you want a lot of vertical estate as well as horizontal. IE 4K.
Also have fun with the panel lottery, folks: http://hardforum.com/showpost.php?p=1040983755&postcount=2410 These panel lotteries are present with every one of these types, 1440p and up. They occurred when I went through 8 total 1440p mainstream brands that cost 600->800$ before finally settling on a Qnix.

SupermoistI wouldn't be surprised, it doesn't seem like you're capable of reading and comprehending much of anything. In fact, it's been proven throughout this discussion.
