exhibitOAccording to Anandtech, the total input lag was "a scant 18ms." Even blazing fast TN panels have a total input lag of around 4-5ms so considering that fact - and the fact that 18ms is about 1.08 frames, I personally believe it'll be fine for gaming. Those I've asked about prior to joining the drop said that the experience simply cannot be beat. Though I suppose if you're one of those ultra-hardcore FPS players who insist upon 120+Hz and 4ms total input lag providing you an absolutely unmatchable advantage, then the "scant 18ms" would be garbage tier.
I don't know about you, but I can't depict the differences much above 60Hz much less catch the difference played across a mere 0.84 frames. Bottom line, if you have really freaking good eyes and can actually notice the differences between 60Hz and 120+Hz monitors and can pick out individual frame discrepancies down to the half-frame, then wait for your 4K G-sync and some more powerful GFX cards.

PapajTotally. I have the Monoprice 27" IPS and it ranked even below the LG and I find it completely fine for gaming. I'm not trying to play CounterStrike at 144Hz.

exhibitOexhibitO, let me put it this way....this is a fast ISP panel at 18ms input lag. And you will be happy and notice no lag or ghosting AS LONG as you haven't come from 120hz monitor. Then you'll notice some input lag. This monitor isn't slow, just that a 120hz monitor is typically very fast. It's like this monitor is a Porsche 911, and a 120hz monitor is a Bugatti. They're both plenty fast, just that the Bugatti is faster

PapajPapaj, I'm a fan of single high rez screen 21:9, so I completely prefer this 34UM94 over a 120hz screen, but just wanted to mention that the difference between 60hz and 120hz is fairly noticable, but really only in shooters. In BF3 and BF4, the screen does get more smooth, smooth like butter or glass, but 120hz comes with some serious drawbacks. Typically far inferior picture due to a TN panel, color fading and shifting due to just moving your head offcenter, and it's usually 1920x1080 low rez. Other shooters, like Borderlands 2, I didn't notice the 120hz that much, barely. D3, no change, Xcom, no change, Wow, hardly any.
When I had tried out triple screen, nearly every game was a fun experience to try out triple screen. Triple screen immersion (or 21:9 in this case) is just so immersive and fun that it's just plain a better experience than having more smoothness with 120hz (just for shooters). This 34UM94 is high rez, lowest dot pitch, BILLION colors not just 16.7mill, and 21:9. Every game that works at 21:9 is going to be an experince. It's like having a new $10,000 home stereo and you put in all your old cd's and listen to them like never before. Every CD becomes a new experience. 120hz just gives you a little more smoothness. It stinks being low rez though.
Anyway, enough of my ranting. 21:9 is just more "fun"

SupermoistI don't play shooters anymore and never did play any on a 120Hz panel except briefly, my eyes just suck is all I was saying. I'm just glad I saved another $100 bucks on my purchase since we have over 100 buy ins now. I have no doubt the immersion I'll soon be experiencing in single player games/simulators will be out of this world. I really have no freaking clue what I'm going to do with two of these side by side though - my two 23" 1080p IPS panels already give enough room - but it has started to feel crowded lately.

PapajThank you for your detailed response. That puts my mind at ease a little. I'll be coming from a 27" IPS montior, it is a Yamakasi Catleap from Korea. Is this superior quality being also an IPS, I just have to know. What can I expect with blacks, and color reproduction?
