Sleep is for the bitches fellas, so here is a quick shot of the monitors I received (according to the frames, both manufactured in August 2014 - Rev. 02). Both screencaps were taken directly head on and level with the center line of the monitor, in a pitch black room, blinds shut, other monitor off, at 40% brightness.

Overall I'm pretty happy with it so far. The bleeding is not terrible and half of it seems to be a bit of IPS glow (remember the camera exaggerates and creates a false blurring effect because the black screen was achieved via playing this video:

Honestly, even at 40% having two of them 3 feet from my face is blinding, so I might go down even further on the brightness level just so I'm not wearing my sunglasses inside. Your guys thoughts on my monitors?

PapajI think the backlight bleed issue is overblown IMHO... In normal conditions you cannot see it at all.. having to turn off the lights and not display anything but black.. just to see it at all? seriously?
I'd be upset if it was visible in normal conditions.. not if I have to create special conditions just to see it.. I know some are OCD on this, but I won't be unless it is impacting my daily work or play.

PapajAfter receiving mine and testing it for backlight bleed mine looks very much like the picture from Papaj. I'm not entirely convinced that most of it isn't just IPS glow since it seems to change intensity when I move my head. Over all i'm very satisfied as you can't tell that it's there at all unless on a completely black screen.

PapajWhen you say screen caps, do you mean actual screen captures, or photos taken with a camera? Those images are straight black, with no bleed at all, leading me to believe that they are legit screencaps (which wouldn't actually show any bleed to us viewers).

crazyg0od33If you look really close you can see some light in the lower left and right corners on both pictures.

TimGThe picture shown above do not show back light bleeding. That is most likely IPS glow. But that doesn't mean that the LGs didn't have back light bleeding. If you have been following the hardforum thread you would know that some had monitors that looks much much worse than that picture. One person even fiddled with the frame and significantly improved the bleeding issue which means that it couldn't have been IPS glow.

TimGIt's visible in normal conditions if you look for it, but it's only in the periphery of the monitor.

PapajMy monitor says it was manufactured in August 2014, but the box says Rev. 01. The monitor itself doesn't say what revision it is- did you see the Rev. 02 clearly marked on the monitor itself, @papaj?
