Another backlight bleeder reporting in and I'd like to think I was pretty careful when unpacking the screen. Although it's not too bad when browsing the web, when editing photos or playing dark video games, I'm definitely can tell. I also have the displayport, no input signal loop, and I don't have an onboard GPU. I'll probably give LG a call tomorrow.
Below are some photos I took earlier tonight. The first two images are from ~8-9 feet away and the last two are from about 3 feet away which really brings out the IPS glow. The first photo in each group were taken at 1.6s, f/4.0, ISO 100 and are pretty close to what my eyes see in a dark room. The second of the photos are at 6.0s, f/4.0, ISO 100 and emphasize the problem areas a little more.

EDIT:
My monitor similar to the before photo on the 2014.08.05 update of this robbiekhan's post: http://www.reddit.com/r/Monitors/comments/28vyaw/so_i_was_really_pleased_with_my_lg_34_ultrawide/
