Can someone advise me on what Display Port 1.2 does? When I enable it, the monitor shuts off randomly and gets really bad tearing. I don't know if I should return it or not.

DazeDP 1.2 doubles the bandwidth, enabling advanced features like 4k resolution, increased color depth, 3D, etc. It's been around for years and theoretically it should be backwards compatible with older DP so I don't know why there's even an option to turn it on or off, and I'm surprised it causes problems for people.
Might as well leave it off. It's not a 4k monitor anyway.
I'm curious what video card you have. For Nvidia, GTX6xx and newer should all support DP 1.2. Not sure about AMD.

Actionable_MangoThe issues with DP 1.2 on this monitor seem to vary. I run DP 1.2 just fine on older GTX580 SLI setup, and I get no issues with it. Not sure if these DP 1.2 stories depend on the vid cards and drivers.
