I'm kinda new to dash cams, so correct me if I'm wrong, but the specs seem kinda low for this price range -- Only a 249-degree total view and only 720p @ 30fps?

HKJPLabelling it as a 249 degree "total" view is technically accurate, but usually isn't referenced in that way in the dashcam scene. Nonetheless, it's a fair viewing angle for the camera. The price range is slightly higher than some other cameras, but I assume that comes from the LG brand name more than anything. I'm sure LG will stand behind this product more than a generic Chinese manufacturer would. 720p @ 30fps seems to be the standard, but for a new dashcam it certainly could be better. For proper detail capture 1080p @ 60fps is ideal. I personally have the BlackVue DR750S 2 Channel dashcam which has 1080p @ 60fps front and and same at the rear with 30fps. That camera however, once you look up some pricepoints for different versions, comes in with a much higher price tag. It's all about comparison and features. If I was new in the dashcam world and was looking for a quality camera at a fair price, I would pick this up. It's a good buy.

HKJPI have the "bigger brother" of this 2 channel camera; the lgd521. It's 1080p front camera and 720p for the rear. As @LiveTrash mentioned it being an LG product (and therefore should or may likely have good support) I can assure you that IT DOES NOT.
LG Innotek is a very obscure division under the LG company umbrella and the mobile application is horrendous on both Android and iOS. Can't connect to live view of the camera 99.9% of the time via its Wi-Fi, There's also software for PC/Mac and it's poorly optimized as well. The GPS unit and hardwiring kit must be purchased separately as well.
The one positive thing I can say is that it does record footage quite well with a nice crisp image, but it falls short of that at nighttime. I'll have to disagree and tell you . it is honestly not a good buy.

DosCorleoneThat's too bad. I have a friend who has the one in this drop and he had positive things to say about it. Mind you, I didn't look at any footage to compare to my previous dashcams, which I probably should at some point. You'd just hope at this price everything would work as intended to some degree.
Regarding your viewing of live stream, have you tried turning the phone to Airplane mode and then ONLY enabling WiFi? I know there is a problem with some users in the BlackVue community having their (mainly Android) phones route some traffic through data and some through WiFi, rendering it unusable since not all data is being sent to the camera and vice versa.

LiveTrashI couldn't agree more on your statement about the price point of some of these systems. I probably made it sound like I hate the LGD521 system I have in the last post I made hahaha; which I don't as it gives me peace of mind just having it running while I drive around.
On your mention of trying airplane mode -- no I have not tried that but I definitely will. Apreesh the suggestion, I do have an older Galaxy S5 as a backup phone for live viewing if my S8 won't work. It's no doubt an issue with Oreo and the outdated LG app.
