Product Description
A great introduction to the world of tube headphone amplifiers, the Little Dot MKII is ideal for pairing with a desktop amp and can also function as a preamp to your speakers. It uses a single-ended push-pull OTL circuit operating in Class A, and delivers plenty of headroom and dynamic impact, along with a touch of tube warmth and tonal richness Read More

First Tube Amp
overall I like it. As others have noted it runs hot, sounds much better after tube rolling. Wish it had a cage or some sort of protection around the tubes.

A little too dark.
I've tested this headphone amp against asolid state HD amp and I find this one to be a little too dark for me. It seems that it is too focused on the lower end and too dim at the top end. I actually prefer the Pro-ject Head Box to this one. I also got the upgrade tubes that were offered. I have not yet tried tube rolling to see if I can squeeze a wider frenquency range out of this or not. But would take recommendations on amplification tubes to try.

Incredible Value (With a problem)
A great starter tube amp. (Sounds decent for the money) *less than 1 year of ownership and the connector has issues with listening to the left and right channel atthe same time (I will update this with the results of my warranty claim)

Hot little Amp
First headphone amp that I'm pairing with the 6XX and upgraded tubes. Performance is solid but made the electrical interference from my GPU apparent. Picks up on Phone wireless frequencies if placed near each other as well. Sounds great after fixing those little issues.

Very Good
I moved to it from BRAVO Audio V2 ..... It's another level and sounds fantastic. I attacched it with my Topping DX7S and the sound shines like a new star.

Good entry to medium level tube amp
Overal I like this amp, my only disappointment was that it only works properly on the lowest gain setting. When ever I move the jumpers to medium or high gain only one speaker works, I don't know if this is a common problem or just in my unit but it is a problem. That being said this amp really brought my Koss electrostats to life. For anyone that has Koss electrostates and thinks that they are not warm enough or don't have enough bass, this amp will change sound as you know it. I may try some tube rolling later but for now i will enjoy it as it is. By the way the HIFIMAN HE-4XX sound awsome as well.

Obviously every headphone addict should know that Tube Amps are designed for Headphones with high Impedance - perfectly 600 OHM - using it with below 100 OHM is abomination! This little dot is live changer if you love music and know how to use it. Check out this thread https://www.head-fi.org/threads/little-dot-tube-amps-vacuum-tube-rolling-guide.563884/

It's OTL tube amps that are better matched with high impedance headphones. If the tube amp has output xformers, it will work perfectly well with low impedance cans. The sweet spot is often adjustable by changing the coupling capacitor values. The LD MKII is a fun little amp with a very warm sound signature. It's certainly not the last word in black backgrounds or resolution, but it is enjoyable if you go in knowing what to expect.

This amp built very well but there is a hissing every since I open the box especially on the higher gain. I can barely use it with any headphone have impedance below 100 ohm, but this is good with other high impedance headphone. Would prefer it without the hissing tho.

Comes packaged quite well, but for america is shipped by fedex which I do not like. Comes with included rca cable and quarter inch adapter and english manual. Not that large but does get hot. Finding matched aftermarket tubes can be a hassle and costly. I have no issues other than tube noise which is normal. Not bad amp, if it was a tiny bit cheaper.

When it works, it sounds good. Internally, however, the quality of the workmanship is very poor, and the design is faulty to the point of being dangerous. The high voltage AC leads from the transformer are only tack-soldered to the board. When I plugged in a pair of Bose Quiet Comfort 15 headphones, the full wave bridge rectifier partially burned out and the resultant overcurrent caused one high voltage AC lead to spontaneously desolder itself and ground out to the case, blowing the fuse. Apparently, it has to have a resistive load on the headphone jack or it blows up. This is not mentioned in the documentation I received. QC15 headphones have essentially no DC impedance. The amp sees that as an open circuit, and that causes an overcurrent of sufficient magnitude to destroy its rectifier. In a couple of decades of using and repairing tube equipment, I have NEVER seen any audio tube circuit designed in a such a way that having an open on the output could cause damage. Shorts circuits, sure. Open circuits, never.
The manufacturer has disappeared from the Internet, is not answering any emails to his eBay seller account (DavidZheZhe), and has disabled new user registration and all email functionality on his website (littledot-dot-net). There is no way to contact him, there is no way to obtain support, and therefore no warranty. The product has obviously never been evaluated by UL or TUV as there is no way it could past muster from a product safety standpoint.

I got rid of this problem by building an artificial central tap using some resistors. it worked, an electronic also recommended me to make a simple attenuator which could get rid of it forever. But the central tap is good enough for me on high gain settings, there is no buzzing or hum.
