Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

The Mojo is loved by so many because it's so great. To say it's only a little better then even a good phone is just not true. When you spend that much on a good quality DAC like that. There's a big difference. I've had people argue this with me, and after I pulled out my Geek Out 450 there were no more arguments. Just wows, and where can I buy thats! And let's face it. The Mojo is on a whole other level then that DAC.
And it's epic! It's better then I could have imagined. It's amazing. It does everything right. Love it. I bought a Grant Fidelity Tube DAC 11 that people like, but complain about the highs. That's exactly my experience too. Not blown away at all. I also have an HH Scott Stereomaster 200. People rave about Scott tube amps, and I wholeheartedly agree. It's amazing. I love it. It's right up there with my 6L6 based SET amp. So while I wouldn't get a Mojo, because I don't like bright detailed upsampling DACs. It seems that most people nowadays like that, and if you do. I would try it. It's not like you can't sell it. They go as fast as Schiit stuff does. Which people also love. And I also wouldn't buy fit similar reasons. Unlike the Mojo though. The Schiit DACs don't measure good. I think that's your snake oil IMO. But what do I know?
Most of my other stuff I can make a profit on if I wait patiently. I my experience there's a difference between gear at those prices, and if you buy used. It really doesn't matter anyway. You can always get your money back if you don't overpay. You just have to wait a while usually. That Mojo goes for like $550ish new. Used about $450. So even if you buy new. You can use it for a year, and only lose say $150 at the most.
Not every item is like that though. So you have to be savvy. It's all what you want. All I like to do is listen to music. No TV. No other hobbies really. So to me. It's worth it. It's my hobby. Hobbies cost money. I don't think too much about spending some money on it. It's my entertainment expense. Others buy stuff they'll never get any money back on. To me it's actually a cheap hobby. And this stuff goes up, and down with the economy like anything else. Except the old stuff is only getting rarer. So when it goes back up. It gets higher every time. So worse case scenario. I use it for a few years till it goes back up even higher. And I cash out. I have tons of gear I bought cheap. I have plenty of faith that I will make it fine. And if I do get stuck, and lose a few hundred. I'll have gotten years of entertainment for a few hundred bucks. That's pretty good IMO. It's not like something you buy, and can't get your money back. Like DVD's. And it's up to your income level and taste. Neither of mine are very high. But I'm not dealing with bad sound to spend less when it's value stays the same if you bought it used in the first place. That $1000 you spend on a piece of gear isn't just gone. It's just can't be used for a while. And the $1000 piece will hold its value better anyway. Nobody's giving away their McIntosh cheaply are they?
