Review for MKIII SE opinion: This is the first external amp I have ever bought and I am extremely impressed. Was previously using a Essence STX Sound card to power my 300 ohms Sennheiser HD 650s and this amp brought some new life into them. This amp is clear, clean and was plenty of power on low gain and 40% volume. I also noticed my highs became smoother and less harsh while my bass became more present. Very happy so far and I look forward to doing some tube rolling. I found myself closing my eyes and purely enjoying my music. An amazing experience. Construction seems very well built and solid. The amp does run rather hot but this is expected for a class A amp. Packaging was well secured and came with a RCA interconnect, and two XLR 3 pin cables. The balanced option is a nice plus for the future. The only somewhat minus is if I turn the volume up without any sound playing noise become audible at about 65% volume, and is harder loud by 100%. However, this might be due to my DAC still being my internal sound card until my new external DAC arrives in December. Noise was not audible at 60% or below. Overall, I am very happy with the unit. The audiophile bug is hitting me hard now! I want more!!

roarWolfyI'm puzzled as to how to get Sylvania "Bad Boy" tubes into the slots as the gold decorative circles do not permit the tube to fit.
