One thing that should be noted about the little dot line is that they have a lot of tube rolling options and those options are much much cheaper in general than say the 6DJ8/ECC88 tubes that amps from Schiit and Woo and the like use.

alwalker@alwalker Do you have more information on which tubes, exactly, the LD MKIII is compatible with?

bilditup1Go to Yen Audio on eBay. I have purchased 2 sets of upgraded tubes from him. One for my Little Dot 1+ and now my new Mark 3. I just asked him what is the best upgraded tubes I could put in the 3. He told me what they were, I ordered them ($124 - I know, expensive) but it plays like an amp one or two levels up from what I bought. I know have $372 in it and it is a giant killer. Phones are AKG 702 moded, Sennheiser HD598, Beyer DtT770 Pro and DT 990 Pro. You don't have to spend that much on upgraded tubes. I just decided to do it and be done with it.

bilditup1Yen at Yen Audio on eBay has a great handle on what would work as an upgrade. David from Little Dot, however says the stock tubes are pretty good. Better than the stock ones in the LD1+ and LD2. They sounded great to me. I just wanted the best I could get from the amp and that required upgrading $124 worth.

alwalkerGreat Head Fi resource. Cross reference those suggestions with what Yen recommends and you have a winner.
