I wear a 10.5E US size. Should I size down one full size to a 9.5, or to a 10? Can I exchange if the fit is wrong?

vlsmI've got heaps of loakes and they do run big. What brands do you take a 10.5E in? For example I take a US 10 in most sneakers and an 8 in F width loakes.

vlsmI'm a 10.5E in Allen Edmonds, depending on the last.

vlsmI'd grab a 9.5 to be safe. It'll probably be a bit wide but you can always chuck an insole in or wear a thick sock if it's too much. Better being half a size big than half a size small. If you have the chance, all F fitting loake 1880 dress shoes use the same last so see if you can, try a pair of cannons or buckinghams if you want to be sure.

vlsmI find the Capital to be a bit roomy, so I think sizing down one full size (to a 9.5) should be good. That's my best guess.

IanAndersonThanks. Are returns/exchanges possible if I get the sizing wrong?

Saint0110Sneakers cannot be a good indicator. Only formal shoes sizing can be compared to sizes of other formal shoes
