Among the oldest shoemakers in England, Loake is still run today—five generations after its birth—by the Loake family. Like the founders did in the 19th century, the company’s craftsmen still construct each pair of shoes in their 1880 line using a Goodyear welt: a painstaking process that ensures the shoes are recraftable for years to come. And the Buckingham brogue shoes are no different. Built on the company’s Capital last, these Goodyear-welted shoes feature a calfskin leather or suede upper with an understated brogued effect, along with a full leather lining, leather insole, and rubber heel tip to assist wear.
Note: At checkout, choose black, brown, dark brown, or tan calfskin leather (base price) or brown suede (- $10). Loake uses UK sizes. We recommend US customers go a full size down from their US size (if you wear a US 9, go for a UK 8). Available sizes range from UK 6 / US 7 to UK 13 / US 14.
The Capital last is a true-to-size last shape and Loake recommends staying true to size when selecting your shoe. You may find some extra room in the toe area and width, but this will be minimal.
