According to Loake's website, UK size numbers are only 1/2 smaller than their US size counterparts (e.g: UK 8.5 is US 9), but in your selection drop-down they are a full number behind (UK 8 is US 9).
Which one do I select if I want US size 9?
TonzuraI'm confirming that it's definitely one size bigger (the Loake website will be updated in the near future) when going from UK to the US sizing. If you want a US size 9, please go with the UK 8. Thanks for checking on this!
How are the widths on these? I am 10.5 e US but the UK10F is a bit long for me but has the right width. Any suggestions on where or not to just get them in 9.5UK and get it stretched or get them in UK 10. Thanks!
Pacman2Confirmed with the vendor, we'd suggest you get the 9.5UK and the fitting should be good for you.
You can always stretch them worst case scenario, but the 9.5uk should be just fine. :)
Loake makes a variety of shoes and about three or four levels. Some can be seen as very high quality U.K. Made. They could also also be the lower end as are some I've seen made for private label
They could also be from the bottom of the range as made in India. This cannot be disputed.
So the question if these are of value can only be determined by identifying the level of production
what say you massdrop. Are these from the loake 1180 collection , design, shoemaker etc.
dd33Doing a little searching one can determine these are from lake shoemaker collection. They are made if the U.K. And goodyear welted. They retail for approximately 190 usd plus shipping. I will let that speak for itself and let the reader determine whether this drop is a good value
or if in fact it is actual list price
dd33These are indeed their Made in the UK line and one of their best seller styles.
Regarding the pricing and value behind this drop -- Again, please see my answer to user Churam88 below.
When you're quoting the $190 price you're probably seeing this on Herring Shoes and assuming they will ship outside the UK which they will not. And even the sites that carry Loake and do ship worldwide (which there are only a few) will list a price closer to ours, and you still have to take into consideration shipping (which we are offering free US shipping and discounted international shipping), plus we're incurring all the taxes and tariffs from importing these shoes into the country via the distributor.
This exact same boot is advertised on the Loake site for right around $200 (£175.00). How is the MSRP $295? Is inflating the MSRP a common thing for Massdrop? This isn't the first time I've seen that.
