First of all, I am fully cognizant of the general luxury products market differences and dynamics and definitely not going to tell people how to spend their own money..
...but can someone please explain the rationalization behind this. I am genuinely curious as to what's driving demand and/or seeming increase of all these ultra high end players (with some going into $2,000-3,000 range)...
I feel like for that much money I can buy a balls out loaded small tablet or ultra-portable laptop to be the McDaddy of portable set ups...but that's probably too peasant and counteractive of this target market's disposition LOL

It's mostly for folks with high-end portable headphones that want a device with good audio components (components that tablets / phones don't have) to run their lossless audio files. There's no way in hell I'll be buying this (and I just missed the paw 5000 drop) since this is way out of my budget.

At that price, I'd rather invest in a clean source player, a good interconnect, a good amp and a good cable to pair with whatever headphone/ciem that's in my ear....
Still, as a standalone player, the paw gold isnt all that bad if you have the cash to drop on it...
