Originally created by a pair of graduate students to assist earthquake relief efforts in Haiti, LuminAID inflatable solar lights are now used by emergency workers, hikers, and backpackers worldwide. The durable, water-resistant TPU construction inflates to diffuse the light, and flattens into a compact package when not in use to be clipped on your backpack or tucked in your first-aid kit Read More
Just received my order today and the button on the spectra is already broken and it won't turn off or change colour. needless to say, very dissapointed in the quality. The nova is working fine and it may very well just be a faulty unit and not a general problem, but considering i have only had it for 2 hours its not looking good
Honestly, how are we supposed to believe that you're giving us a break when you're lying to us about how much the items cost? I'm done with these clowns.
silasioHmm, not really clear on what you mean @silasio . You do realize our price is for a 2-pack of these, and you reference the price of one unit. If your question is MSRP, that is set by the manufacturer and is standard for all retailers. The street price is a completely different metric, and sometimes street price is MSRP and other times not. Either way, we have reported the correct MSRP and still have the best price around as far as I could find.
DannyMilksI didn't initially realize that the price is for 2 lights, but I can still find the packlight 16 for under $15 at many online retailers, so $28 for 2 is hardly a break. And I understand that MSRP is different from street price, but more often than not I'll find something on sale here and find the same or better prices elsewhere on the internet. It leads to a deep seated distrust.
I understand massdrop has been exploring different shipping options - $21.75 to Australia is too much for these light weight items, and makes a good buy otherwise unfeasible.
Ordered them in late 2015. They are great lights only if they lasted... After only a year, the TPU(inflatable) section disintegrated. I'm guessing the UV rays have caused the TPU disintegrate. Will never order them again.
Just wanna throw out there that we bought these last year (packlite 16) and love them. They definitely need good direct sunlight to charge, but hanging off the back of your pack on a sunny day seems to work. Super light (we never question bringing them) and way nicer for e.g. cooking, setting up camp when you get to camp late, lighting up the tent than headlamps. Haven't found the battery life to be problematic on 3-4 day trips. Don't find them difficult to inflate. Durable and waterproof. Would buy again.
