For anyone confused. This drop is for the Packlite MAX USB (solar or usb charging) Turbo = 150 lumens. My image shows the Packlite Nova (solar or usb charging) Turbo = 75 lumens. In a previous drop they were a 2-pack for $29.
I think there is an error in the description: “ The built-in 2,000mAh battery will charge your phone, tablet, and other USB-compatible devices via the 5V USB port.” The lantern pictured is the older model (LuminAID Packlite Max) same as the title, but THAT older version does NOT have a port to charge your phone! The newer LuminAID Packlite Max 2 in 1 is the version that allows you to charge your phone (as does the LuminAID Hero).
Oh well, not the model I was hoping for. Thanks for clearing this up.
The price is good for the drop, compared to prices I saw in a brief search for the older model.
I have the older on with the micro USB charge port and I really like it for backpacking and regular car camping. If I’m solo, it puts out plenty of light to cook by. No problem getting through a 3-day camp trip. I always make sure it is fully charged via USB first because it charges very slowly via the panel, but it does help keep it topped up.
BenHaFrom the images this looks like the old 'PackLite Max' ( see the small micro-USB port cover in the top right corner) which cannot charge USB devices but can be recharged by USB. The 'PackLite Max 2-in-1 Phone Charger' which CAN charge USB devices has two ports under a much larger USB port cover (to accommodate the same micro-USB port and an additional USB-A port) in a different location (the top left corner).
For a comparison between the two, see the LuminAid Product Comparison page https://luminaid.com/pages/product-comparison )
BenHaHi there,
You are correct, this light does not have phone charging capabilities. There was an error in the description but it should be up to date now. Thanks for your question!
