anyone know if the gold colored ring on the Ti flashlight can be removed? what is it made of? I'd prefer to sand it down to get rid of the bling
If its brass I could quickly force a patina...

DDroYes both rings can be removed, but I don't know about sanding the plating off, or if even is plating. Might be a brass ring, but I think it's plating. Not going to sand mine to find out.

DDroIf it’s anything like the single AAA Ti light of theres, it a solid brass ring and is intentionally there to help dissipate head buildup. Titanium is a pour heat conductor. If you remove it you risk overheating the emitter.

glennacwasn't planning to remove. just don't like the bling. i'll probably suspend the ring over a cup of ammonia to force a patina.

DDroIt's purely decorative. Has no bearing on heat distribution or anything else.

bucktenThanks for the clarification. It must be entirely different than the AAA version since MassDrop does say it‘s for heat disappation. 👍🏼
