A note to the "Drop" purchasers; As a user of many flashlights during my decades long, law enforcement career, I must say that a flashlight with multiple beam strength options is much more versatile than a single power flame throwing, 1000-3000 lumen flashlight. My recommendation to the "Drop" purchaser/testers for future flashlight purchases is to buy flashlights with multiple beam power options, for example, a Low power option is good for the theater or other venue in order to find your seats or to keep from tripping on those seated in your row; Medium power which might be used outside at night while walking the dog or walking in the parking lot after shopping; High power for those times when in a dark alley, camping, or other similiar area. As an option, a Strobe would be helpful as I have personally used a strobe to repel a pack of coyotes while walking my dog at night (they hate strobes and will turn and run in the opposite direction). In addition, from a personal protection point of view, a strobe can momentarily disorientate an "assultive" person and give you time to get away or call for help. Just some thoughts.....

Sheriff_DanThis flashlight use the Anduril UI. It’s ramping. Meaning you can set it to ANY output you want between Moonlight and 2800 lumens. There is a Strobe mode AND plenty of other special modes as well (Lightning Storm, Candle light, etc…)

glennacGreat! We need to stay away from "industry" specific terms. I have been using flashlights in my profession for decades. These include Surefire, Streamlight, Maratac, etc., etc. I am not familiar with the term "smooth ramping." The term means nothing to me. A better description of the functionality of this or any "Drop" offered flashlight would be to describe it as you did to me in your reply; "you can set it to ANY output you want between Moonlight and 2800 lumens." Peace..........

TylerDurden333I have been using various brands of flashlights in the LE (law enforcement) profession for over 20 years and I must tell you that many flashlights in use in the LE field are "just one mode.' Here are some examples: Surefire https://www.surefire.com/g2x-tactical.html.
Streamlight started out making "one mode" flashlights (Model SL 20) for LE decades ago. In fact, they are still in use. Recently, they have have upgraded the original SL 20 model to a Dual-Mode (high-low power) option flashlight. Many SL 20 "one mode" flashlights are still being used in the field by law enforcement. https://www.streamlight.com/en/products/detail/index/sl-20l When we use our flashlight, it is usually to gain a tactical advantage in order to illuminate a person(s) or target at the highest light output for our safety and the safety of the public. I hope this helps.
