nikonf5This is awesome. The Lumintop IYP365 Nichia is my EDC, but the MLH sequence drives me crazy. Last night I was in a theater and kept on fiddling with the switch so l could read the program without blinding everyone around me.
If the Nitecore MT06MD is otherwise as good as this Lumintop, I'll gladly drop another $25 just to get LMH.

The few Amazon.com reviews that exist have multiple people stating the same problem, namely the tail switch conks out after while. The CPF thread on this light has a post currently at the end of the thread which hints at this being a weak point:
"My only complaint is that damn switch. It works fine now but I could see it being the first thing to malfunction."
I am NOT saying the switch WILL conk out, just that more than a few people have had issues with theirs.
That being said, this is very similar to the Nitecore MT06 which I have two of and I am very happy with both of them but they are Cree lights and I really want to get a Nichia. In the above-mentioned CPF thread [linked below], it is mentioned that Nitecore IS coming out with a Nichia version of their MT06. Not sure when they are being released as only their PDF catalog currently shows it and their website still only lists the Cree model but the relevant catalog images are below in case you are interested.
*** UPDATE - 2017-03-03 *** Official website link now available: http://flashlight.nitecore.com/product/mt06md Mysteriously shown with two Energizer alkaline AA's instead of the usual Eneloop's Nothing on AliExpress or Ebay yet though. Would be nice if MD could have a drop for it, am sure Nitecore wouldnt mind getting guaranteed product penetration.
*** UPDATE - 2017-04-25 *** Couldnt wait so I just bought myself one from eBay. Received it last week. Starting off in low mode is great for its intended audience but I can see it pissing the EDC types off. The color IS more accurate and it IS a lot closer to sunlight but the difference is not super-obvious. But hey, I now have a Nichia as well.
