Pretty! Does anyone know if the U2 is the best LED at the moment? Is the 1000 lumen output spot on?

SurefireHi. In ideal conditions output is close to 1000 lumens but not there. Exactly 975 lumens at 3000 mA. It's still one of the best LEDs, especially when it comes to single LED total output. However there are ways to achieve better output or better efficiency (3 x Nichia NVSW219C or 3 x XP-L).

SurefireLike Lucasz said, it's still very efficient and the tints seem more reliable these days than years back (greens, etc). I understand the XP-L essentially has the same output efficiency but has a smaller footprint so it's easier to put in smaller lights. This is a "must buy" for a classy small 18650 edc, IMHO.
