Product Description
At just over 4 inches long, and weighing slightly over 3 ounces, the Lumintop SDmini pumps out an impressive 1,000 lumens and casts a beam over 200 meters long. It runs on a single 18650 battery (or two CR123As) and is easily recharged via microUSB—just plug it in and you needn’t even remove the battery Read More
I don't know who Massdrop's Lumintop vendor is (they won't tell me), but I'm not ordering any other lumintop products from Massdrop.
Like many others, my flashlight came with a dead battery (yes, I took the tab off). Contacted massdrop, the vendor requested a video of the flashlight not charging and not turning on. I took the video requested, sent it to massdrop, they forwarded it to the vendor. Apparently the vendor just stopped responding to them after that. Even after getting their video evidence of a defective battery, they refuse to replace it. Now I get to buy another, which basically negates any savings from the drop.
If I'd wanted to pay full price for a flashlight, I would have bought a nitecore.
Love the flashlight. Super helpful in my wild escapades into the forests. Its powerful, it is useful and I've already spent 12 days with it in the wilderness.

mscott58I got the XP-L version in the last drop. It's very well built, and it has a larger corona than the Nitecore MH20GT (comparing my two "pocket throwers"). I would have preferred it in neutral white. I UI isn't my favorite though. It's better than the side-switch Fenix ones, as the SDmini is immediate on, but I prefer also having an immediate off (vs. holding down the side button for a second). In that respect, I like the Nitecore more (two-step switch for immediate on/off).
hatmanThe XP-L HI version I got in the last drop is a cool white. I've not had mine on high long enough to see it step down (the lower powers have been bright enough for what I've needed them for). I've had it on for about 15 min on high now, and it hasn't stepped down yet.
I just received my flashlight --sd.mini...the light works but I was not sure if I should charge it. I tried to charge it and the light around the power button blinks. Should I leave it charging until the light stops blinking. Or is it fully charged....Thanks
I just got mine, and it wasn't working. No light when I pressed the button, and quick flashes of green when charging. I opened it up, and noticed a little yellow sticker on the negative contact. I guess so in transit it can't turn on and drain the battery beyond recharge. Pulled that off and it worked just fine.
KabaThanks for the thought, but I had already removed the tab. My battery was just dead. I even tested with an ohmmeter. Massdrop - or the manufacturer - would have likely replaced it, but they wanted photographic proof of it not working and that was too much of a hassle for something I had already replaced for $10.
