I was so excited to see this drop again but the electronic switch and the battery drain problems make me apprehensive. I guess I could use the clicky switch of my other lumintop or source a tailswitch from somewhere.

Mario.PaulI bought that beautiful brass version and absolutely love it but if it's going to kill my battery before I can actually use it that will piss me off entirely and Lumintop will be on my "no buy" list. So here's to hoping it doesn't. Now to go play with it again. I'd love to start a Tti/Steel theme for EDC to go with my gentlemanly's carry of brass toys.

Mario.PaulI documented my one time battery drain incident. However this light has been working good. I do use mine very often. I inspect the insides of copiers and printers with it on my job. Some days it goes unused, other days used several times. I may see it as you do if I just use it 3 or 4 times a month typically. I would consider a twisty type switch with that little use anyhow, and those lights are abundant.
Matter of fact, look up Lumintop Worm on Amazon. Same exact light and electronic specs. Can get aluminum, brass, copper, and stainless vversions, but only in twist operation. I have the stainless version clipped to my keychain as my emergency light. Finally a light that is harder than my keys, and the twist is stiff enough to not accidentally activate or lose the light head.

TRexSrWelp, I caved in. The price is great and I love the form factor of these lights, here's to hoping the light is reliable.
To add my two cents, the clicky button itself can be more or less reliable than the electronic switch. My first Lumintop (the black standard one from Amazon) came with a clicky switch and a twisty switch. I chose the former because it can be used one-handed, but so far I've had two or three batteries drained completely because the clicky switch activated by mistake while in my pocket.
The twisty cap is by far the most reliable. It will not activate itself on its own and it doesn't have a capacitor to drain the battery either. It also has a magnet and it's flat so you can rest the light on the end cap. The only con is you can't activate it one-handed (at least not easily).
Honestly, I love my two Lumintops. Now to play the waiting game
