Howdy, does this one have the Nichia 219B or 219C? Anyone who recently purchased one within the last few months can confirm please? Thank you

zipsurfI ordered three Nichias and instead received three Cree lights. The box labels claimed they all had 219B LEDs. Drop refused to correct their mistake because I didn't find out about the error until after their one month "warranty" had expired.
The old 219B LED supposedly is not being produced anymore, so if you actually receive a Nichia the light probably has a 219C LED - despite the labeling.

Dr_GI think you are right about the 219C vs. 219B as it makes sense. Too bad because the older 219B's were perfect. Sucks about Cree lights you got instead! wow, the Drop c'mon Drop, step up your warranty game! 1-month only? ! That's ridiculous. Hope they make an exception for you.

zipsurfYeah, the Nichia 219B was the perfect LED in my opinion. I was able to buy a roll of them a couple of years ago and plan to get them put into some old lights like a Fenix LD01.
If you're looking for bigger lights, take a look at the Emisar lineup with available SST-20 4000K 95 CRI LED.

zipsurfNo, I haven't seen that light. I got a Fireflies ROT66 light earlier this year with Nichia 219B and 7000 lumens. But I mostly prefer single cell AAA and CR123A lights that are easy to carry.
If you like the size of the AAA Lumintop Tool take a look at the Astrolux A01 with Nichia LED. You can get one for around $10. The Olight S Mini Baton Titanium is a nice CR123A light that can put out around 500 lumens.
I emailed Drop again about how they screwed up my order. They asked for a bunch of info, including photos of the case with barcode, envelope (as if I would've saved the shipping package from a few months ago 🙄) the lights, etc. I also sent a photo showing the difference between the Cree and Nichia beams and they asked me to take a photo with my own lights. I did that and then they claimed the photo I took yesterday is the same as the photo on their site! 🙄 At this point it looks like instead of apologizing and trying to fix their mistake they're actually trolling me over this order. Serves me right for not believing all those negative reviews about Drop's customer service...

Dr_GA warning for anyone considering purchasing this light. It has *no warranty* and you have 30 days to return it to Drop if there are any issues. FYI.

Thank you for getting back to us! After reviewing your order of the Lumintop Ti Tool AAA Titanium Flashlights, I see that you received the flashlights in April of 2019. Regrettably, a warranty was not included with the flashlights.
For products that do not have an included manufacturer's warranty, customers have 30 days from the date of delivery to report an issue. For products that include a manufacturer's warranty, customers must report an issue within the stated warranty period.
After reviewing your transaction, it appears that the time-frame for reporting an issue has passed, which means we are not able to provide a replacement or facilitate a return.

Dr_GOh wow, that sucks! Thanks for posting this though. 30 days is pretty slim while no other warranty? Here I thought it would be the opposite - name brand like Lumintop then backed up with The Drop. Sheesh so essentially you are on your own.
I picked up an original ti Lumintop AAA Nichia off Ebay and of course it came from China. Took awhile but eventually got it and somehow I knew the odds of a warranty would be slim. Lucky it's been fine but imagine if only that 30 day warranty existed and then after 1/1/2 weeks the light died. By the time it would be returned in China, the warranty period would be over. I've heard other cases where the lights fail or develop problems after 6 months so we'll see. They are pretty amazing till that point.
