I own the anodized black aluminum version of this light, with the Cree LED. I purchased it with both end options, the magnetic flat end, as well as the "rubbery" pushbutton end. My unit is M-L-H. Additionally, Using Rayovac alkaline batteries, I turned it on high with a fresh AAA and it ran 54 minutes before cutting out, but intensity began to drop before that happened though. That's about as extensive as I've gone for testing. I have not tried other battery brands. I find Rayovac offers a good bang for the buck... far cheaper than Energizer or Duracell, but not much less capacity in comparison either. Been considering seeing if the test is repeatable... I did buy a 16 pack of AAAs! :D
