RichieRichThe general rule is to get a blanket that is 10% of your body weight.

cisco245No smiley. Can't tell if you're joking or asking a genuine question. I'm about 175. So got a 15lb one from Amazon a few weeks ago. If you are closer to 200-225 then get the 20lb one.

glennacMissed opportunity then😀. But on a serious note. I know different manufacturer have different care instructions, but I have a 25lbs blanket that started to fall apart. After 5 washes the seams started to get unstitched. Is there anything wrong on how I do the laundry? I usually wash it on cold, regular wash with no fabric softener.

cisco245Washing in "Regular Wash" might be the problem. I would think "Delicate" agitation would be desirable. At least with mine, the weight is composed of glass beads. Vigorous agitation of all of that weight could put a lot of stress on the seams and stitching.

RichieRichI just read that you should choose the weight that is 7-13% of your own body weight.

RichieRichWent with the 25 pounder and also purchased this https://www.ebay.com/itm/Luxury-Duvet-Cover-Twin-Full-Queen-King-Bed-Size-Ivory-Solid-400-TC-100-Cotton/113717199403?_trkparms=aid%3D555018%26algo%3DPL.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D58647%26meid%3D51c8de0c0bec4de1a7d31cac1748340d%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D12%26sd%3D113695369589%26itm%3D113717199403&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851 so as not to worry about washing it nearly as often without one. The duvet from india works great and is soft enough (I am used to 800 tc). Verdict is in. IT WORKS. I lay on top of it and do not go under it until I am ready to fall out. When I sleep with it I am able to stay on my back all night without flipping to my side and tossing a pillow between my knees. I wake without back issues and tend to sleep straight through the night. At first it feels a bit trapping under 25 pounds but that goes away. I let it rest at my ankles with my feet exposed.
