While its name may be hard to pronounce, this timepiece from German watchmaker Mühle-Glashütte is easy on the eyes. Here, we're offering four different styles, each of which has a dial that's sectioned off into three parts Read More
These Muhle -Glasshutte Nautische Instrumente watches are becoming almost as popular/common around here as Glycine's offerings. They're nice watches, but each time they come up, I can't help wondering how folks who purchased them at the MSRP feel when they see them being discounted by a couple of grand?
I imagine they feel betrayed, cheated on, and USED!!!
Reminds me of girl I used to know...
MÜHLE-GLASHÜTTE is a brilliant brand that represents a high standard, built quality & great design equal to the Swiss. I picked up one recently & it exceeded my expectations for the price, these watches are definately punching above there weight class here on Drop at the prices being offered.
The name of the company is Muhle -Glasshutte Nautische Instrumente as they have always made instruments for the nautical industry, such as chronometers, barometers, hygrometers etc.
They started making wristwatches after their establishment as an instrument maker, so their watches bear the company name which has the wider mission of making precision instruments in general.
A quick search this AM (11/07/19) shows this exact same watch selling for:
$1,555 on eBay,
$1,861 on Chrono24 and
$2,660 on Watchshop
Knowing that, what kind of cheap-skate would buy it here for only $1,149?!!!
Don't love this one, but excited to see a steady stream of middle market mechanicals showing up in drops these days. Muhle is definitely not my favorite German brand, but they're offering solid value with heavily modified ETA or Sellita ebauches, unlike many others at this price point who are basically just a case on an off-the-shelf ETA.
Normally I’m a fan of disclosing what the base movement is where a brand decides to give it their own model number. However in this case calling it an SW260 is doing MG a disservice. Sure they use an SW260 ebauche, but they totally rebuild it including adding a swan neck regulator to the escapement mechanism.
BlackrazorNZI agree the movement wouldn’t be my concern at all the warranty on the other hand i might have a problem with only in the event it gets drop kicked during shipping
