I have this lens and I have to say that I'm quite impressed by its sharpness at the wide end. Good details and contrast, and the f/3.5 isn't too shabby even for available light shooting. At the long end, the quality is average. Super tiny when collapsed. On my GX85 with this lens, I can fit it into a tiny camera case that's designed for a bridge camera. The only issue is that the electronic zoom takes some getting used to, and it eats up your batteries a bit quicker due to the expand/collapse and zoom.

I know I'm not representative of the whole universe of m4/3 users, but I honestly don't understand why anyone would want this lens, good price or otherwise. If small form factor is a concern, the Panasonic 20mm f1.7 is small, fast, sharp and offers a 40mm equivalent focal length that is surprisingly useful in a variety of tasks despite being a prime lens.

XymnslotI have the 20 mm prime and it is top notch, especially in low light

XymnslotThis is just a kit zoom lens, but in a very compact size, without needing to "unlock" the lens before using it. It offers a useful zoom range. The Panasonic 20mm is tiny, and even tinier is the Panasonic 14mm. I had both and ended up selling both. I found their single focal length too restrictive. And my 20mm f/1.7 (first generation) had a horribly slow and noisy focusing motor.

jay.villNot great. "international spec" , so no US warranty. Unlikely to get decent warranty service, so no different than any other cheap 'grey market' or 'international spec' lens online.
