Listening to my pair as i am typing this :)
They are very light, fits very good in my ears and after some headbangning they still sit great in my ears.
As with all iems, you need to dig in your box of tips to find something that fits you. The stock tips are ok but not the best. I switched them out to something a little longer and with better quality silicone for best fit.
The sound is better than expected. It´s rather balanced with some emphasis on the bass. Still plenty of midrange and treble. They sound good indeed. Good enough for daily commute to and from work with an hour of music during the lunch break. No static noise or any other interference as of yet.
If you want more bass than average i suggest looking in to the Jabra sport pace. It´s the only wireless iem i have to compare the macaw to.
The range is about 5-7 meters, the Jabra is better here but not by much. Still i need to test them more before final review.
To sum it up then..
Great fit, very light and good looking with a good remote and easy controls.
Sound signature is rather balanced, slight emphasis on bass. I prefer monitor style headphones and speakers so you know where i come from. Balance over bass. Surprisingly clear. Can sound a little bit tinny but this might change with some more use.
For 24:99 it´s good indeed. I do not have so much to compare them to at this time. Would recommend buying from Penon if your total cost going over 29. They have free shipping with DHL.
The for the impressions! I know you said there's no static noise but any hiss during silent passages or transition between tracks?
If I listen very closely.. I mean indoors a quiet room, then yes. but it's so quiet I really need to listen for it. I would not call it an issue at all. Probably the most quiet BT product I have used.
Cool, looks like it might be worth a shot. Thanks again!
have you tested the mic? (not even 100% sure if there is a mic here, some site listed it to having a mic while here it does not)
Great tip, moldymogel! Free international shipping as opposed to $21.25 (plus the shady add-on charges my local UPS 'tacks on') makes that a great deal! Looking forward to receiving these!
