While these are useless as a cutting board, they do look quite pretty for use as a cheese platter!

How porous are these? Wood cutting boards always seem to soak up anything thats been cut on it.
NJbonelessThese come pre-oiled, but any wooden cutting board will need to be maintained to prevent them from becoming porous. Food grade mineral oil is most commonly used, however many people will use a mineral oil & beeswax mix.
NJbonelessI use John Boos Cutting Board Oil and Cream (two products; oil is applied and allowed to soak in overnight, and then same thing with the cream, and you are good to go). It has been working very well. NSF approved.

Tram is not a great choice for boards and the thickness may cause the board to warp

If you have a local farmers market or craft fair, I guarantee you that someone will be selling cutting boards/bowls/etc like this there.
