MadCan@Ugur I'm pretty sure their distributor backed out before it was supposed to ship. But ya, I've been waiting a month too (Canadian).

My stuff arrived in Vancouver BC yesterday. $40ish on duties attached to the $254.80 initially (for three boxes) Their distributor in Canada backed out, so they had to ship it from the states; which, in my opinion, totally warrants some kind of notice and option to back out of the deal, considering I just basically paid as much if not more than retail price for the boxes and got them nearly an entire month later. It's a shitty situation that got worse and it definitely wasn't handled optimally. Massdrop lost money on shipping, I lost money on the deal and the only people to get anything was the god damn government collecting duties.

RicepandaSend your receipt/bill for the duties to support@massdrop.com and we'll reimburse you for this. This is an absolutely huge exception to this deal. Duties are the responsibility of the buyers, and we warn people that we have no control over what a government decides to charge on a package (most Canadian packages seem to go through without problem, this is probably the exception versus the norm). You signed up for the deal, expecting it to ship from Canada, and expecting not to have to play the "duty lottery", therefore it's fair that you shouldn't be stuck with that bill. We'll take the hit on it. Other international customers, and other Canadian customers signed up to non-M13 buys, this DOES NOT APPLY TO YOU. Agreed Andy, overall this situation went from great, to bad, to worse. It's our business so we'll take the responsibility for it.

MarkTLDR; I can't stress enough to ALL INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS, you are responsible for paying your own duties. (except this one really rare situation with this specific M13 buy)

MarkThanks for stepping up to bat for us. I am glad that you guys are willing to take an even bigger hit to satisfy customers. Is there any specific subject line/information that we need to include in the email? I agree that duties are totally a responsibility of the buyer, which was sort of the problem behind shipping it to us from the States after the Canadian supplier had backed out. At that point it was out of the buyer's control, which I hope people understand is the reason why this is an exception to the rule. Once again, thanks. It's pretty rare for a groupbuy to have this much customer service behind it, which is one of the reasons why Massdrop is awesome. I seriously hope this doesn't sour you guys on working with Canadian suppliers in the future, because, well, duties suck.
