I'm an accountant, so while I prefer TKLs, I need a keypad. I like the TKL->mouse->KP setup on a neoprene desk pad. When I first caught the MK fever, the options for ANSI-layout keypads were limited to $70+ commercial offerings with Cherry-brand switches. This was the first inexpensive, ANSI-layout keypad with mechanical switches aside that I noticed come out with my preferred switch offering (Gateron browns) at a price point that I felt compelled to bite (~$30). There were some cheaper mechanical keypad options, but not in the ANSI-layout and typically using other Cherry MX blue clone switches. The pros for this keypad are: switch options (<3 Gateron as I mentioned), the price, ANSI-standard layout The cons for this keypad, though you have to consider the price: hardwired USB cable, ABS keycaps, the beveled, polished aluminum edge on the black plate is distracting, case has rubber pads that come off too easily (weak adhesive) I haven't been able to get used to the top 4 keys, but that hasn't bothered me - they would save a lot of time in Excel if you get used to using them. My full-sized keyboards are all 104 keys, so I just don't have the muscle memory for using that row. These were (and are) available on Amazon for about $30, hitting that market after the original drop and before they were shipped by MD. I picked up 2 in the drop and would not hesitate to buy another if I needed it.

I bought this keypad to use with a Kinesis Maxim, but am now using it with a Freestyle Edge. It's not a perfect match to the Edge, but it's pretty close. It replaced two successive membrane-switch keypads, one of them Kinesis itself, neither of which I was happy with.
Key action is excellent as one would expect from Cherry MX switches. The adjustable-brightness backlighting is nice. Unfortunately the embedded calculator function appears to work only on Windows, and is no use to me on Linux. However, if I buy a second Freestyle Edge for my Windows gaming box, I would definitely consider a Magicforce keypad to go along with it. I could wish that the blue backlighting option were a slightly deeper blue, but that's mere cosmetics, and the Magicforce was not specifically designed to match the Kinesis Freestyle Edge (in fact the Freestyle Edge didn't exist at the time). I haven't seen the Ice White backlighting to compare. The choice of black or white case and keycaps is an unusual option, most devices being one or the other; however given the choice, I'll pick black every time. It's not just that white shows even small amounts of dirt so much more; it's that white plastic ALWAYS, without fail, yellows with age.
All that said, Qisan sells this exact keypad (in both colors and in all of the switch color options, with Gateron switches) for $30 on Amazon. So unless a drop brings it down substantially below $30 (the last one didn't), you may be better off going to Amazon for it.

Occasional use: OK
This is the second one I bought of the same model, with different options. These are inexpensive pieces, but not suspiciously cheap. One from Aliexpress, the other from Massdrop. (one black, the other white, one with brown switches, the other with blue). Perhaps blue switches are better in a mechanical keypad: it increases precision. It works fine. But I only need to use it rarely. Luckily most of my keyboards are full keyboards. Only some of them are TKL or smaller. Design is good. Not too light, not to heavy. The key caps feel good under my fingers. The rubber feet lend the necessary stability.

I'm underwhelmed by this keypad. The switches and lighting are great, and all the switches work. The keycaps are mostly great, but the keycap for the forward slash / dollar sign looks like it was made for a different row, because it has a lower profile than the other keys on its row.
The body of the keypad looks nice and has a good weight to it. The cable looks a little flimsy, but I haven't run into any issues with it, plus it's nice and long, making it easy to position the keypad wherever I want.
On my Mac machine, I have found a couple of issues that I haven't confirmed on Windows:
1) If I try to type semi-quickly, I find that keystrokes start repeating themselves. For example if I hit 6 then 5 in quick succession, I get "656". This is really kinda crappy when I bought the keypad specifically to do quicker data entry. To use it, I have to slow down to slower than I can enter numbers on my top-row number keys.
2) I am unable to type the dollar, euro, or yen signs from the keypad. - If I try to type the dollar sign, I get "36" - If I try to type the euro sign, I get "1280" - If I try to type the yen sign, I get "1560" - It seems like the charset encoding values are being passed over improperly.
I'd return it, but I prematurely threw out all the packing materials, so I guess I'll just add it to my bin o' random electronics, because it's not usable for it's purpose.
UPDATE: I just tested it on my Windows machine, and it's great. None of the issues above occur on Windows, only on my Mac.
Granted, the forward slash / dollar sign key is still wonky for it's row, but that's not a functional issue, just cosmetic if you're looking closely.
One other quirk I noticed while using it is that, if I turn the num lock off, then each keypress actually turns the num lock off, presses the relevant key (arrow keys, home/end keys, etc), then turns the num lock back on. Not sure why it was implemented this way, but isn't really problematic unless you're using this in a really specific situation that that affects.

SteveTCookWhen you tried to input currency symbols, the numerical sequences you got instead should produce currency symbols on your monitor if you hold the alt key while inputting those sequences on a standard numpad. So, it looks like we could get the desired currency symbols on this numpad by holding alt and pressing one key on the numpad, instead of alt + a sequence of numbers on the numpad. Sold!

Oh. I didn't know that about Macs (as I'm sure you could tell), but I would say that explains it: The numpad is sending the equivalent of the Alt+numpad key sequence, and Mac fails to recognize it. Magicforce should probably drop an * and admit this, anywhere they say "Mac compatible" or similar.

Functions as well as can be expected. Only complaint is that it does not allow you to use alt codes at all, which was a major component in wanting it for me. My fault, though. Should have done deeper research.

For the price it is a pretty good product. I wish it supported alt-codes, was a little more solid, had better/quieter stabilizers, and had a detachable cable but the thing was only like $30, can't get everything for nothing.

ChamCan you share what's exactly the issue you experienced? And also how did the manufacturer react on the warranty claim?

Keys and keycaps are decent, build quality is good and the backlight works fine. Unfortunately alt-codes DO NOT WORK (despite what the manufacturer says), which is disappointing to say the least, which is quite annoying as this was one of the main selling points for me.

Very useful
Bought the white and black one. White is in storage at the moment and using the black one. Very useful to avoid using a full-sized keyboard.
