Another vote for just the typewriter keycaps. Sorry Datamancer, but I like these ones better ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

cerementIt caught my eyes immediately then of course the little one fell in love with it as well.
Ordered an all Grey Casing with the "Typewriter" styled key-caps all in CherryMX Brown switches because she has to be the one using it rather than me. Always safer to go with Browns rather than the gaterons, simply because I don't trust their longevity here.
CherryMXs always last longer when used over time.

cerementDefinitely considering buying just for the caps... but the lack of a 7th 1.25x on the bottom row is putting me off. There's no good way to recover and make that pretty on a standard 60%.

ElrickWhat makes you think the Gateron switches do not last as long? "CherryMXs always last longer when used over time." is a bold statement and I've never heard that before.

A_PenguinBought two Gateron switched keyboards last year a TKL and 104 series.
The TKL which I used quite a bit, started having a different feel when used. The keys I used most had taken on the task of wobbling when pressed and they were far easier to push down. The other keys that were not regularly used attained their firmness and wobbled less.
Granted, I'm no light fingered ballerina when using my keyboards but these Gaterons, lose their firmness far quicker than any CherryMX switched keyboard. You will find out for yourself when you buy one of these and use it for over a year. Remember Gaterons originally are just cheap versions of the CherryMX, so why take a risk when spending your money?

ElrickHave you had or read about issues with the longevity of Gaterons vs MX Cherrys?

Neblin7Just read everyone's usage of both Gateron's and standard Cherry Switches (GH, DT and OCN) and most stand behind the Cherry Switches when it came to longevity.
I was curious in just trying the gaterons out but in the end the choice was clear, the original Cherry's were the way to go.
This of course is just my decision, so don't go scribing it upon any Tablet and run down the mountain and later proclaim it as the only truth worth knowing ; )
