@YanboWu Hey, I want both the typewriter keycaps, and the original keycaps in a bag with it. If I'm paying extra for the typewriter caps I 100% want both the keycaps sets! Or are the typewriter keycap set in a bag? In my understanding I'm paying for standard MF68 with gateron green switches, standard keycap set and extra typewriter set which I'm paying extra for yes?
Also, are the typewriter keycaps made of plastic or metal? If they're made of plastic I definitely need the original keycaps as well.
mazzafoxThe typewriter keycaps are plastic and you get a discount for choosing the abs keycaps instead. You will only get the keycaps you choose.

YanboWuah ok, better option I'll just get tai-hao set.. thanks.
@YanboWu does an elitekeyboards keyset work on this KB?

YanboWuIs the silver plastic solid (they're silver all the way through), or is it merely painted on and therefore at risk of rubbing off or chipping? Are the black legend surfaces stickers or plastic? If they're not stickers, what method was used to create the legends?
Some of us are worried over how fragile or even temporary the keycaps are going to wind up being, given we don't get the regular set, as well (plus the fact that they're an extra $20). They look great, but if they're going to wear in a month or two of heavy use, buyers will wind up without a decent keycap set for this keyboard, and won't be able to buy keys with the specific special character/functions keys for this particular keyboard.
Thanks.

Bengalkittythey're plastic AFAIK. it LOOKS like they're black stickers. they looks like they'll wear quickly, so I changed my mind for the standard keyset. like you mentioned, getting a replacement set for this KB will be a bit of a pain.. I'd rather a 68key which has standard keys..
mazzafoxI went for the standard key cap set as well. I took one look at the typewriter caps & was like nope. Personally I think they would be fairly uncomfortable to type with, look wildly out of place on this KB, & are probably made extremely cheaply (i.e silver painted plastic & stickers for the legends). I could be wrong so don't take my word on it but I feel like it would add way more than $20 if it was even just some type of double shot plastic & laser etched legends.
As far replacing the key caps goes it should be a fairly easy straight forward process. All look to be standard sized keys & if the missing fn layer on most aftermarket cap sets really bothers you you can order some pretty decent quality custom printed ABS caps from MAX KBs or WASD. I am expecting the caps that come with this to be pretty cheap so I will be putting my black PBT/POM double shot set from WASD on this once I get the fn layers memorized.

mazzafoxIt is a standard keyset so if the elitekeyboards set is also standard then yes.

mazzafoxYeah, this buy was a tough one to decide on. Started out planning for a silver model with white backlight, cherry mx blue switches and typewriter keycaps. Just ordered the Black with blue/orange backlight, Gateron reds, and standard keycaps. It's cheap enough I can always buy another down the road; I'm sure they'll offer this again. If not, there's always the super cheap ones on Amazon for $39.99, although it's OUTEMU switches and no backlight at that price.

BengalkittyIt'll most definitely come back, that's for sure. I did pay the extra for Gateron, I much prefer them over Outemu for inexplicable reasons.
