Vintage-Style Notions, Made in France
A French haberdashery shop based in Versailles, Maison Sajou makes beautiful supplies for sewing, embroidery, and other kinds of needlework. Like these vintage-style notions, designed to take you back to a time long passed. The set includes a metric ribbon tape measure and a pincushion, both made from hornbeam wood in the shape of a small barrel, finished with a cherry wood stain, and presented in a small decorative box.

Dressmaker Tape Measure & Pincushion
The tape measure is inspired by those once found in souvenir shops throughout Europe and decorated with the names of spa towns, tourist attractions, and famous monuments. Because it doesn’t automatically retract, you’ll have to rewind it by turning the knob on the top—but of course, that’s part of its charm. The pincushion comes mounted with a piece of linen, which can be easily replaced or embroidered. If you choose to embroider your pincushion, Maison Sajou recommends fixing the mousse disk in the base with a touch of glue.
