Manchester Watch Works’ flagship model from its professional line, the Beluga Ascent automatic is the world’s first dive watch with a bezel that measures your ascent while in the water. The bezel is aggressively notched so you can get a solid grip, even with gloves—but even with the Beluga’s impressive utility (it’s water resistant to 500 meters), it will look just as impressive at a dinner party. The dial is a standout. Look closely at it and you’ll notice 12 spiral grooves radiating out from the center, one for each hour. For visibility, the markers and hands are lumed with SuperLuminova. The movement that powers the watch is an ETA 2824-2 25-jewel automatic with a power reserve of 38 hours. All that is packed into a chunky 41-millimeter stainless steel case that’s fitted with a sapphire crystal. Also included are some key extras listed below.
