I have this watch and love it. It inspired me to buy the Champlain, which is a lovely little watch and a bargain!

It looks like it's missing a diving bezel. In fact, I think it would look pretty sweet with a diving bezel.

OK: I would not call this watch by MWW as an homage to a Seiko model. But it is an homage to the military watches issued by the US Govt. since WWII. Has the same characteristics such as simple dial and hands that have good visibility. Being all titanium this watch should wear very light on the wrist. The Seiko movement used is what we like to see in an automatic, manual wind and hacking (stopping the seconds hand to coordinate time). Of course I'd like to see this watch under $200 but it's not our of line. I've seen the comparison to the Quartz Bertucci for $60 and I've seen BOLDR Quartz Venture for around $150. But they are not automatics. You could compare this MWW to a Hamilton at about $400 if you want. The Hamilton uses a Swiss automatic so it's high end in the world of Military style watches. I like this version of the MWW because it is such a simple looking watch. Strap it on, go out and beat it up outdoor and be somebody!

roamy360I politely disagree. Yes the dial is similar to military watches but that's it. The extra thick case (like it's missing a bezel) is nothing like military watches, nor is there a date complication on WWII watches. I collect a variety of military / field watches and I honestly wouldn't wear this if it was given to me (just my taste). I think it's another very unpopular model heavily discounted on massdrop

roamy360It's an homage to a very specific Seiko model (which it almost duplicates looks-wise, except the MWW bezel is wider) From MWW website: "The Rattler Field watch is deeply inspired by one of my all time favorite watches I've had the pleasure of owning - the Seiko SUS 4s15. I once had both versions (silver dial and black dial) but at 34mm in diameter - they were just too small for me. This was actually the watch that motivated me to start my own watch company as I was going to recreate this fine timepiece and now the time has finally come."

What's the weight? I'm always on the lookout for Ti case watches as I can't stand heavy watches hanging off my wrist.

mgeoffriauStill curious what the weight is - haven't found it listed here or on MWW's site, or on any reviews I've come across.

I like the look, and when its my money I'll be the judge of what is "ugly" and "unexciting" and what is not. I like sapphire, auto and superlume, and I don't mind the NH35. I don't peg the price on any one of these, but on the sum total. I'd buy if it was 40mm.

GairpieWhen it comes to watches as ugly as this one, having a 40mm excuse card in your back pocket is a life-saver!

I've got this watch in the black dial version and it's a lightweight tank. The lume on it has to be seen to be believed - it's super-bright and lasts all night. Matches up perfectly with the black NATO strap w/titanium hardware from Redux. Don't sleep on the Rattler - it keeps near-perfect time.

Those looking for the homage whilst not wanting to pay the current market price for a 4S15 SUS auto has this fantastic option. MWW is a decent and really fair priced microbrand. There aren’t too many titanium watches with an auto movement (4R or above) that is offered at this price range and to compare or laugh it off as rubbish just shows who you are & where you are at in this passion/hobby.

Chuckles. Those comparing this to a Seiko 5 and complaining about the cost don't know what they're talking about. It has a superior movement, sapphire (which Seikos up to $1000 don't have- see Shogun) and the case is entirely titanium (again, see Shogun). All for a phenomenal price. I already have the black one and considering getting the silver. This is an homage to a cool little Seiko from the '90s and really is a treat to own.

the seiko looks a lot better, the width of the bezel on the seiko is tidier and it's angled. Maybe it's just the colour of the material in MWW, but it looks dead flat as opposted to angled.
