$3600..srs..You can DIY a single ended all DHT amp with Coleman Regulators Lundahl input and output TX for way less than this, hell, you could probably have Jack at Electraprint wind you a pair of solid silver secondary output and still be under $3.6K.

Type26With all respect to our friends at Lundahl, there is no off-the-shelf transformer on the planet that you can purchase that can operate in all of the modes we offer in this Manley Absolute Amplifier. This one part required months of prototyping and design by our Magnetics department. There is no off-the-shelf power supply that you can purchase that matches the capabilities of our MANLEY POWER®️ SMPS that Bruno Putzeys designed for us. These are just two aspects of the total design that took my team over 3 years to create. So even if I handed you the complete schematic, and the code for all the encoders, LED, and relay drivers, and the boards for you to stuff, could you really DIY this same product for under $3600 or even $1800? I guess if you are that skilled and experienced you should consider manufacturing! Every day is an adventure, my friend! It might look easy from the outside, but trust me, there is a massive amount of engineering under the beautiful bonnet that you are not able to appreciate.

manleylabsMy DIY type 47 amp would mop the floor with your amp with funny lipstick knobs lol. I have about $500 in my amp, most of the parts are salvage from tube vintage gear. I can order a custom tranny from Electraprint with 32/600 ohm taps, hell I can even throw in interstage transformers and still not be close to your selling price. Yeah, I'm really sure your sketchy ass "Magnetics Dept" can wind anything close to Electraprint/Lundahl/Hashimoto/Tamura offerings. I can even put Tango outputs in my amp and still not top your asking price. I can use an actually good sounding tube in my amp like 45,2a3,300b,4P1l, etc.and still be under your budget. It doesn't take much skill to build a quiet tube amp, there is nothing mystical about it, anybody can build one. I like how you try and make your amp sound hitech by using words like "Encoders," WTH are you even talking about? I build all my amps and I even powder coat them myself.

Type26Look, we build audio equipment commercially. We are not trying to put any DIYers out of business. 🤓 Would you like to try to appreciate what we have been doing professionally for the past 30 years? The Sketchy Ass Magnetics Department part begins about an hour into the tour... https://youtu.be/iunBAzr8GK0 Promise I won't hide anything from you in this factory tour.

The Manley Absolute Headphone Amplifier ABSOLUTELY can drive the HIFIMAN Susvara and Audeze LCD4! Please contact Mark Ramos at HifiMan and Mark Cohen at Audeze for verification of that as they both own Manley Absolute Headphone Amplifiers and use them at their corporate headquarters and at trade shows. Just last week at CanJam Shanghai and last month at the UK Ascot show the HIFIMAN Susvaras were playing beautifully together with our Manley Absolute. Contact Focal. Conact Angela at Cardas Audio. Contact Andy at Mr. Speakers/Dan Clark Audio. All of these companies own Manley Absolute Headphone Amplifiers for their Reference Systems.

Wrong, it does drive the HE-6, I have the original version. And it drives the latest version of the Abyss, without issue. Layered, big sound stage and transparent.

manleylabsIn retrospect, you guys are a business and do have to make a profit. I can build a one off DIY piece of gear, but I could never mass produce them and make a profit; It takes me around three weeks to build one amp.

jamato8You know what would really drive the HE-6? How about a transformer coupled 6C33C 😁

manleylabsI cant make up my mind between a Telefunken tube mic or a Manley, your studio gear rox. I sang over a mysterious red and black Manley tube large diaphragm condenser the other day, loved the way it made my voice sound. Is there a less powerfull headphone amp than the absolute? What is your entry level headphone tube amp offering? I would love to buy a Manley instead of a Woo.

omegadeltabetaListen to a 300B, before you commit. I got a Cary 300B with an out-board capacitor bank for speakers,, and then saw, that yes it had A 1/4” headphone jack,, why not try it? Instant smitten, these tubes were made for the human voice. I then plugged in the external capacitor bank, mountains got higher and the valleys lower - not louder, headroom is key, power on standby. Manley has one of those 300B’s too: https://www.manley.com/hifi/neo3br

Tube mics are an art unto themselves. I got a lesson visiting a company called ‘THINK’, who makes specialized amplifier devices for mics, with precise and quiescent SiCr resistors, tuned to the artist... a level I was unaware of... I have wondered what mic tech they select Ed for Roberta, when she recorded ‘Killing Me Softly” in Japan,... it captured her in a bottle, a treasure.

rastusYeah I have an Airtight 300B, Japanese engineering is the best but its a speaker amp, just that I cant find a tube amp powerful enough to drive my LCD 3s. Tube Mics are my favorites I run them to my Univeral Audio tube mic preamp and then to my SSL console with AD coverter at zero gain there, just apply some VHD even order harmonic distortion and Boom, grammy nomination. Maybe with the 300B headphone amp I actually get the dang prize, my studio "Monitors" are actually B&W 805s.
