I'm a big fan of hatchets and tomahawks but I cringe every time I see a piece like this with that frigging spike sticking out the back. That thing is pointed right into your eye every time you pull this axe out of the material you are chopping.
A hammer poll is three times as useful and ten times safer. Putting a knife blade on the back of a chopping tool was a bad idea from the beginning.

mikejI never considered this detail of this axe, very good point (see what I did there ;-) But that being said I think the use case for this axe that of a personal defence weapon, hence the "tactical" moniker.

mikejLots of tactical tomahawks have spikes, they serve multiple utility, breaching, and combat purposes. Not to mention that the existence of double headed tools has no precedence for people being brutally maimed through their proper use, if they did, the designs wouldn't persist. All that said, this item is an expensive novelty being sold as a cheap tool.
