Handmade in Italy by the artisan bookbinders at Luca Nataliza Legatoria, each hardcover Manufactus journal features a golden-hued Marble or Peacock paper cover trimmed in a smooth leather spine. The paper on every cover is individual and unique, made by hand using a technique called paper marbling in which the paper is dipped lightly onto the surface of water onto which dyes have been floated and swirled or combed into patterns Read More
I liked the first journal I bought so much that I anxiously awaited another drop To buy another one. Really beautifully made. The photos pretty much show what you get but they are nicer in person. My only negative - and it’s a pretty major one - is that fountain pen ink shows a lot of feathering on this paper. Of course, the amount of feathering varies depending on the ink and nib, but every combination I tried showed some amount of feathering. I don’t know why journal makers - especially makers of exquisite looking journals like these - don’t put equally exquisite fountain pen friendly paper in them.
Definitely the best looking journal I have ever used. I felt guilty writing my nothings in it, but the feeling got less strong as it filled up. And it filled up beautifully.
So many compliments on it, I don't think I've ever gotten compliments on another notebook.
Maybe difficult to carry around! It's quite large, and sometimes the pages are a bit stiff (not layflat). But these are minor squibbles against it's beauty and glam.
I wanted a book just like this to glamourize the thoughts and learning experiences I wish to leave behind, at my great age. I’ve even been practicing trying to write well so as not to clash with the beauty of this book. It arrived beautifully and securely packaged
I expected a beautiful journal what arrived was so gorgeous and so well crafted that I immediately regreted buying only one. These are perfect gifts for any writers you know, just don't forget to buy one for your self.
