Hand-crafted in Italy by artisan leatherworkers, the Manufactus "Medioevo" Hand-Sewn Journal is the most popular model available from the bookbinders at Luca Natalizia Legatoria. Each cover is cut from full-grain vegetable tanned calf leather, selected from one of six tanneries outside Rome that have been supplying the company since just after its founding in 1910.
Note: At check-out, you can select a leather color from Black, Burgundy, Dark Brown, Red and Light Brown (pictured). Because every Manufactus journal will be handmade to fill this order and shipped from Rome, the estimated shipping date is 4-8 weeks after the drop ends.
Heavyweight Cotton
Incredibly soft and supple, the "Medioevo" Journal's 70 sheets of 200 gsm Amalfi cotton paper are sewn to the spine by hand. Each page has a rough cut edge and can handle graphite as well as various ink types. However, due to its fibrous nature, the paper may clog some nibs after prolonged use, so is not recommended for fountain pens.
