Sometimes you put batteries in stuff you rarely use and when you go to use it, there's a noticeable drain from when the batteries are "fresh". For those who've edc'd this light, have you noticed any at all? What kind of usage and battery replacement cycle are you seeing? I love my AAA copper Maratac and was just wondering about this since the batteries are more expensive and less common.

BeoWulfeI just got my triple A copper Maratac flashlight as well and I love it. Copper also happens to be my favorite. As for your battery question, that will usually happen to all batteries no matter their size or make over enough time. Obviously some devices are better than others and they may not cause much drain, but I've owned a couple of very nice flashlights that require the CR123 and as much as I love those flashlights, I absolutely hate those batteries. I'll never buy another device that requires them unless it's the excalibur of flashlights or something and I just can't live without it.

BeoWulfeIt shouldn't happen with this light because it has a physical switching mechanism, once the head is loose there is no contact at all. What you describe happens more often with devices that use electronic switches.

Neblin7@Neblin7 - why so much disdain for CR123s?

Neblin7CR123 is a superb battery type. You only need to have a spare one... not so hard I think.
On other side, for me service in Massdrop is incredible. I always have obtained an even surprising feedback. As example my Maratac Copper did not arrive to destination as it seems to be lost by the transport company... they have offered me to send another. It is only made by number one shops. Thx Massdrop.
