Anyone can confirm it does use 16340?

Short answer, no.
Long answer, it uses one CR123, which is about half of a 16340. So (in general) CR123s can be used in a 16340 (it just takes 2x as many) but you can't use a 16340 in a CR123.

CR123 is same size with 16340. They are just different in voltage. 3V vs. 3.7V (not chargeable--chargeable)
