I already own the non-red crown version of this with a solid back, I'd *love* to be able to just buy the sapphire back as what's the fun of having an automatic watch if you can't see the gears :/. I emailed maratac to ask them if it was available for separate purchase, as buying a whole second watch just for 1 part seems a little....crazy.
For those who don't own this watch and are on the fence, you should know that it *is* a beefy watch. Being a big guy smaller watches always have looked quite dinky on my arm, but this one is proportional, and super easy to read.
The size *does* come with added weight, so there's that to ponder.
UPDATE: Countycomm will ship a new back for $48
