View Full Discussion I'm jumping on here one more time to say that user VipeX got it absolutely right when he said that CountyComm has raised the price of this light on their own website to make this Massdrop deal seem more appetizing. If you’re hesitant to believe this, you can see for yourself:
This is an archive of the product page for this flashlight from CountyComm on August 5th, 2016: (https://web.archive.org/web/20160805082814/http://www.countycomm.com/aaati.html). If you visit the same product page today, you’ll notice that they’ve inflated the sale price from $49.95 to $59.95: (http://www.countycomm.com/aaati.html) to bolster their claim that “Massdrop does have the best price & value on the internet for this pre production limited run”.
So what they’re saying is technically true and it’s any company’s prerogative to set a price for their commodities that they think accurately reflects market conditions. However, it’s also disingenuous to engage in misleading hand-waving like this instead of addressing legitimate customer concerns about sales vs. MSRP pricing.
I’m not exaggerating when I say that I own a dozen Maratac flashlights of various makes and models. I literally own this very light. It’s fantastic, it’s my daily EDC light, and I’ve recommended it countless times. But this is a bad look, CountyComm. Your pricing is typically fair and I it’s great that you’re using the Massdrop platform. And yes, you're still offering what is, ostensibly, a "good deal" on this flashlight vs. MSRP. But what you’ve done here is disappointing and I will take it into consideration when making future decisions as a consumer and will encourage others to do the same.
