I received my Ti AAA Maratac from CC recently and it's not NEARLY as smooth when turning the head as my Stainless and Copper versions of the same light. The threads on the Ti feel like I'm grinding coarse, unrefined metal. Also, the edges of the tail end of the Ti light are much sharper than the other AAA Maratacs I own. Anyone else notice these differences? Is there a recommended solution or a particular product or lubricant I can apply to the threads to make them smooth?

allemanderMine was/is the same way. There were some shavings left in the threads. I wiped them off and re-lubed with silicone grease and it's less like a meat grinder now. It's still nowhere near as smooth as the brass/Al/Cu/SS versions. I've been turning it on and off repeatedly in hopes that they'll smooth out with wear. Pretty sure Ti is harder to mill than all the other metals but still disappointing finish work on the threads.

bravehandTitanium is a natrually gritty metal so no amount of lubrication or grease will make much if a difference, and it is much harder to machine that say aluminum or stainless steel so the threads will feel different/ sharper

allemanderI noticed the exact same issue. Not smooth at all. I did try some lithium grease with no improvement. It seems as if the male - female threads don't match smoothly.
