For the price, this watch isn't the worst you could do, but for anyone who's serious about a mecha-quartz racing chromo, I'm still recommending the Geckota C-01 instead. That said, the Geckota will cost you another hundred bucks, so if price is your thing, no one will blame you for sticking with this Marchand. For those with the extra cash, I invite you to compare the specs between the "looks like one" and the "real one." C-01's specs: "The hands and markers are a polished silver finish. Water resistant to 100m / 10atm. Individually numbered. Solid 316L stainless steel case with sunray brushed finish. Screw-down signed 'G' crown with a double O-ring seal. Dial and hands feature Swiss Super-LumiNova luminescent paint. Scratch resistant sapphire crystal glass, with AR coating. Seiko VK64 meca-quartz movement with 60 minute chronograph. 12.6mm case thickness. 22mm lug width." Another benefit for our European members--the Geckota ships from England ;- ) Here's a link: https://www.watchgecko.com/geckota-c01-racing-chronograph-italian-leather-strap Here's a Youtube walk-around: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QoTvE1G1q5o

RayFI was looking at Geckos after you mentioned them awhile back, they offer automatics and for the extra moneys are well worth it.

RayFJust a heads up, I was just about to buy my second Yema a Superman GMT during their sale, when my internet crashed. So while I was getting it back I checked "Starbuy" a local company website to see if it may just be overseas internet connection or something like that as Yema is in France. But I stumbled across a deal I just had to get a Seiko Prospex Solar Limited Edition Diver watch SNE566P , for $499 aud. ?$390 usd. as a Seiko fan I thought it may attract you.

JAone Thanks, but you know what I'm thinking these days? I'm thinking fuck Seiko and their Limited Editions--that's what I'm thinking! You know what "Limited Edition" means in Japanese? It means bend over! Actually it pretty much means that in every language. You know what "Limited Edition" means in Seiko-talk? It means same watch, same cost to manufacture, at double the profit. You know what "Limited Edition" means in my book? It means their's a sucker born every minute--occupationally, two! But thanks for the thought ;- )

RayFYes, but at 50% off I'm happy, I was looking to a solar or eco-drive soon as my winders are full. If I had bought the Yema Superman I would have to get another winder or sell current watches. So it works for me, the other Seiko I had considered was the SCC675. But I have about 7 chronos already.

JAone It is most defiantly not 50% off! It's fifty percent off some ridiculous price a couple of noodle slurping twenty-somethings in Seiko's marketing department made up! If someone is willing to sell it to you for four-hundred clams, that's the price! The question we have to ask is: what's the damn thing worth?! Maybe it's worth the $390 ask--but certainly not based on that crazy MSRP.

RayFYeh, that's why I didn't buy it until it came down. Maybe a bit of "Invicta" marketing is going viral through the watch world. I mean at the end of the day ; an item is worth what the market pays!! And I am happy to spend $390 usd. for this watch. It seems more and more brands are going down this route. But I guess they get the odd "wood duck" to pay the full retail ask on occasion. I didn't mind the "Trenton" special edition, Swiss made, from" Ingersoll" either, to look at, good size and looks; but again the RRP. is over the roof at $600 usd. but at $200 maybe not a bad spend. Have to wait to see if any comes down that far. Currently around the internet at $340 usd. but still a bit rich for me. I don't mind if the watches are called Limited or Special Editions as long as I find them attractive. This Seiko colorway I did like , a few manufacturers went along with the rose tone bracelet and root beer color combo; like Steinhart, and of course Rolex. But my budget ceiling is $400 usd. or so for most watches, the closer to budget the better. I must admit at least Steinhart and others like Yema start out at near reasonable prices . So any discount is a win.

JAone If you're happy, I'm happy ;- ) Oh, and you never told me it came with a second (silicone) strap and arrives in one of those cute, Pelican-like waterproof boxes (as do many Invictas, by the way). All in all an interesting package, limited to 1,500 pieces and intended as an Australia-only release. Sounds like Seiko has your number if you ask me ;- ) By the way, for those who can't make it to Australia for an in-person viewing, here's what the watch in question looks like:

RayFI think they (Seiko etc.)have got Australia in their cross-hairs, currently lots of retailers do because of the general(not me) disposable income rate!! They tried package this at many retailers at $995 aud. but not working; at $499 aud. okay. Apparently we also have the highest rate of "ice" users in the world per head of capita!! That might explain a lot LOL. Thought I would get in before you! Anyway like I said to a retail assistant in the shop recently that the box doesn't matter I wouldn't be wearing it. But i guess they think some people like the box!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh1! and the only scotch I can afford needs ice in it. Been a long time since the days of Chivas Regal.

JAone I wasn't aware of the change in ice numbers, but I wan't you to know, I'm doing my best to reestablish my personal residence as the worlds largest consumer of ice cubes. I admit that in recent months my consumption has not been up to par, but I've rededicated myself toward the goal and I'm on target to win back the title in the next quarter (if not tonight ;- )
