The drop ended a bit earlier than expected because of a lack of inventory. We apologize for the inconvenience but hopefully next time around we can secure more units and be more transparent to how many are available. Please hit the "Request" button to be notified when it drops again. @CFTanker@JamesX
Mark M.Thanks anyways. I just joined Massdrop and wasn't aware that there were limited quantities on the drops. Painful lesson learned, but I understand. Thanks again.
I was checking this tent throughout the day and it said there was 2 days left on the drop. I got home and checked it tonight and now it says the drop has ended. I'm not sure why the drop went from 2 days to ended in a couple hours.
I have a Marmot Limelight 2p. Just got back from camping in rain all weekend and the tent stayed relatively dry for the most part. Super easy to setup and looks great too. They make nice tents.
I found this review fairly useful for general info about the tent: http://ourjourneysflow.com/marmot-force-2p-first-impression/
I'm wondering if this would be suitable for bikepacking, though. 1585g seems a bit on the hefty side for ultralight, but maybe this would be a decent compromise for the price, without breaking the bank on a cuben fiber shelter?
Also, anyone have thoughts on using a compression sack to reduce the packed size of this a bit (with the poles packed separately), or other suggestions for packing this on a bike?
JWCookIn my experience the benefit of the free standing tent comes at the cost of a higher weight. Freestanding can be useful if you camp a lot in areas with tent platforms. If you don't need free standing, there are lighter options.
I went with a big sky and for a 2 man, free standing tent, with ground sheet, I'm looking at 1.5kg
