It's now been almost a month since I returned my damaged pants. I've still yet to see a credit posted to my account. When should I expect to receive a refund?

Dear Massdrop, I just received my Marmot PreCip Pants in the mail this morning. They are great, all except for a tear in the butox of them. How should I go forward with getting a pair that will actually keep me dry! Can these that are damaged be exchanged? Please let me know what steps to follow to resolve this issue. Thanks

I have a pair of these and love them! Don't use them often, but when I've needed them in a down pour, they're perfect and reliable. The big zip also really helps put them on, take them off, and vent when it gets steamy inside.
I'm pretty skinny (29-30in waist) and usually like fitted clothing, and these are definitely not fitted, but they don't feel super baggy either. I think they're the perfect fit for rain pants because that little bit of looseness keeps air moving and less likely to stick to your skin or pants if you break a sweat while wearing them.

ArielBiMBaMedium for the length, but I probably should have got a S for a better overall fit.

They are a little baggy but not Hammer Pants bad. I'm built a bit different than you though, like I have biker quads that are approaching my waist circumference (lol, ok not THAT bad but it is hard to buy pants.) I wear the men's M and short and they don't fit too baggy in the butt or at the top of the legs. But in my opinion they are kinda baggy at the bottom of the legs. Considering most people don't layer up at the bottom of their legs and dislike when their pants snag on underbrush, I have no clue why they made hiking rain gear that doesn't taper at the legs. There's a zipper to get them over your boots, so it can't be an ease on and off thing. When hiking I put my dirty girl gaiters around them or when biking I really have to tuck them into my chain guard leg strap to keep the drive train from catching them.
That being said I wore em on a 150 miler last fall that poured for the first 4 days and had zero problems with them. They don't wet out (unless you are a heavy butt sweater, then they may eventually.) And they kept me nice and dry and not hypothermic. They are light and packable but more substantial than UL minimalist rain gear on the market nowadays (like the MH Ghost Whisperer.) I love the stuff for spring and fall trips particularly.
Does anyone have any insight on how these fit? I'm 5'11 / 165lbs / slim / 31 inch waist / long walks on the beaches / candle-lit dinners / stargazing / Korean cuisine / etc. I typically buy slim-fit / athletic-fit style pants... I have a set of Columbia rain pants, and like everything I look at from Columbia, they are considered, "Modern-Classic fit." (e.g. they fit me like a flag, and I can fit my entire body into a single leg)
I hate feeling bulky, and I want to be able to move around in these without them feeling like the next wind blast will float me across a river like a flying squirrel... or like Hammer-Pants...

TheBeardedCakeasaurI'm 5'11 + 1/2 and anywhere from 165 lbs to 185 lbs, depending on the season it seems. I originally bought the regular length, medium or large pants online. I can't remember which but they were absolutely huge. Way too long and baggy. They were super loud when I walked in them and I later realized this was because of all the extra fabric rubbing together. I returned them and decided to stop at an REI on my way to a backpacking trip. Turns out, the size that fit me best was the short length mediums. I don't understand the sizing of these pants. To wear the long pants, you'd probably have to be 12 ft tall. Anyway, with your measurements, I would definitely recommend the short mediums. They fit me perfect and I can even snugly and comfortably fit a pair of fleece pajama pants underneath for winter camping. Also, without the extra fabric, they aren't annoyingly loud. Hope this helps.
