With the poor heat treats coming out of Italy I wouldn't touch this. You can get so many better knives in better steel for less anyway.

sheffieldsgPlease give some specific instances of poor heat treating out of Italy. I’m quite satisfied with my Lionsteel M5. I feel confident ordering this knife. I cannot vouch for all knives out of Italy, but I am not worried about less than world-standard quality from Italian knife makers. If you cannot give specific instances of quality control issues are you just spreading rumor or innuendo, i.e. fake news?

NejiCheck out luvthemknives, outpost76 and some others on YouTube. They've been hrc testing a ton of knives and Italian production knives have been showing extremely poor heat treats. For example multiple lion steels in m390 have been tested with the results being between 50-56hrc when m390 should be 62-64hrc. They also have done cut tests with it performing worse than 8cr13mov. Other Italian brands have also struggled similarly. Spyderco and Cold Steel seem to be performing the best.

sheffieldsgYou give youtube links regarding knives made with m390. There are no specific tests of other steels. This knife does not use m390. You then generalize to other Italian brands without giving specific information. So, effectively, you are an echo chamber without direct experience or solid research with this knife or most other Italian knives. You then spout damaging accusations against these companies. Sounds like some Italian attorneys might be asking Drop for your information... Others in this thread have been critical of this knife over specs and such. To each their own. You, on the other hand, have specifically accused, in general, all Italian knife manufacturers of shady business practices and substandard manufacturing . I am not sure how Drop would approach this slander of companies they serve as a middleman. That is up to their attorneys. I am skeptical of all of your posts here.

NejiHahaha. Why are you so butt hurt? I gave you a source where they have been testing knives and creating a list of results. Don't blame me if you're too lazy to check it out. Steel Will has also struggled in the testing with their m390. That is notable because Steel Will's m390 models are produced by Maserin. Multiple manufacturers have been paying attention to this testing and have been improving their processes as a result. Not all manufacturers do their own heat treating and hrc testing. They often outsource both to contractors that do it in large numbers. Manufacturers aren't doing it purposely and have been unaware until this testing has been done. The answer may be as simple as a machine that is calibrated incorrectly giving them a false reading.

sheffieldsgLol! plain and simple, you are spreading rumors that have implications beyond this drop. Your opinion is one thing saying what you are saying is another. I request that Drop investigate these type of rumors and hold the spreaders of these rumors accountable. I also think Drop should hold manufacturers accountable for quality products.

NejiYeah, we should investigate non-party members and throw them in camps if they disagree with us too.
