Really nice suit pocket knife that is well made and uniquely rare collector piece
Yes, this is a small knife but it’s large enough to be a practical daily carry for anyone looking to open packages or other light uses. I’d put it on equal sizing to the Spyderco Mcbee which is another excellent knife but goes for at least twice the cost and has a more ‘daily use’ feel to it. Another comparison might be the Rike hummingbird but the Turtle is much more practical in size (blade and handle) for actual use. Rike is really a collector piece with extremely limited practical use IMHO. As for the Turtle, I found the fit and finish top notch. Lockup is solid. Little extra touches such as polished ball spacers and nicely finished wood scales really make this a stand out piece. It looks and feels like a premium knife worthy of suit pocket office use. Bonus is that very few people will have seen this knife before. Drop seems to be offering a run about once every twelve months at a significant discount to anyplace else I’ve seen online. It does use AUS-8 steel but that’s more common for Italian knives and since this is going to be cutting paper, cardboard and tape I just don’t see it as a major issue. If your looking for a really interesting knife for your collection I recommend considering it if you can even find one outside of Italy for sale. Hopefully drop brings this back again sometime in the future.
